What: The Future of BioLNG Europe 2026
When: 25–26 March 2026
Where: Turin, Italy
The Future of BioLNG Europe 2026, taking place on 25–26 March in Turin, will bring together senior leaders from the biomethane, gas, transport, maritime and investment sectors to address the concrete challenges of scaling bioLNG across Europe. Over two days of presentations, panels and high-level networking, the conference will explore how RED III, FuelEU Maritime and evolving IMO regulations are shaping market access, compliance and investment decisions.
The programme will focus on key barriers to bioLNG deployment, starting with project financing in an uncertain and fragmented policy landscape. Topics include price stability, certification reliability, investor confidence and regulatory complexity - factors that continue to slow final investment decisions. A dedicated regulatory panel will translate EU and IMO frameworks into practical implications for developers, shipowners, fleet operators and traders.
Infrastructure and logistics are another central theme, with sessions on port readiness, modular supply chains, cross-border transport and lessons from fast-moving markets such as Spain, as well as national perspectives from Germany, Italy and other European corridors. The agenda also covers national incentive schemes, RED III certification and chain-of-custody requirements, and what defines “credible” bioLNG for regulators and corporate buyers.
Finally, the conference will place bioLNG within the broader decarbonisation of transport, comparing it with HVO, e-fuels and synthetic fuels for heavy-duty road transport, and examining uptake under ETS and increasing scrutiny on methane emissions. The programme is enriched by real-world case studies and includes a site visit to Edison Next’s Zinasco bioLNG plant on 24 March.
