Biogas, biomethane, photovoltaics: a visit to the Società Agricola Palazzetto plant
From electric biogas to biomethane: the Società Agricola Palazzetto di Grumello Cremonese (CR) has recently inaugurated its new biomethane plant, which will produce 630 cubic metres/h of biomethane, or about 5,000,000 cubic metres/year thanks to membrane technology. Biomethane is directly fed into the grid, allowing the breeding farm to which it is linked to reduce the impact of its entire production activity as much as possible and, more broadly, also that of the Granlatte di Granarolo supply chain to which it belongs. The company, which has been investing in bioenergy since 2009, with two electrical biogas plants in operation, feeds its plants with stable manure, second-harvest crops and other agro-industrial by-products. A true example of a circular economy, further strengthened thanks to the recent installation of a photovoltaic system which, together with another cogenerator, will provide for the energy needs of the entire plant!
