Biomethane/RNG: reducing emissions with the green fuel of the future
Renewable gases
Giulia Cancian, Secretary General of the European Biogas Association (EBA), explains how the “Fit for 55” is an ambitious package but with a good objective, provided that it does not penalize biogas and biomethane/RNG operators (ref. Article 29 on emissions) and which guarantees access to the market by means of an appropriate regulatory framework. Biomethane/RNG is also a key part of the REPowerEU plan, which aims to produce 35 billion m3 of RNG at 2030.
