Biomethane: the new frontier of the biogas sector in the UK
Associations
The anaerobic digestion sector in the UK has developed in waves, thanks to various public incentives. Initially, electricity-producing biogas plants dominated (around 500), but today the focus is on biomethane production, with over 130 plants already connected to the grid. Future growth is targeting larger, more efficient plants. In this context, ADBA is working to have biomethane recognized in the UK ETS, making industrial use easier without extra costs. How can we make the most of this valuable resource?
