Brazilian GAS-REC certification for biomethane traceability
Market and policy
The Brazilian GAS-REC certification guarantees the origin and traceability of biomethane, through a system of certificates issued for each cubic metre of biomethane injected into the network. This system allows companies to declare the actual consumption of biomethane, by acquiring certificates, in support of their decarbonisation path. The Totum Institute manages and issues this certification, recently accredited at an international level by the I-REC Standard Foundation (International REC Standard).
