Canada: greenhouse cogeneration system feeds electricity to the grid through an IESO contract
Greenhouse
Foothill Greenhouses, a greenhouse located in rural Ontario, has invested in the cogeneration technology. In addition to generating heat for the greenhouse, the 3.3 MW system provides electricity to the local grid through a contract with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), the leading electricity market operator. A distinguishing feature of the installation is the automatic dispatching system that can track energy prices in the Canadian electricity market.
