Denmark: 25% of the gas in the network is biogas/biomethane. Here's what it takes to get to 100%
Market and policy
Denmark, like other countries in Europe, also aims to achieve an independent gas supply. This goal can be achieved thanks to biogas and biomethane, which to date already constitute 25% of the gas in the network! To increase this percentage, however, some obstacles need to be overcome, including accelerating the system of active tenders, to enable faster construction of the plants and the elimination of the CO2 tax, which weakens the value of renewable gas. The Danish Biogas Association is working to support the sector. Find out more in this video.
