Electricity and heat from a CHP plant for the University of Ontario
Industry and tertiary sector
At the Institute of Technology and at Durham College in Oshawa in Ontario, the electricity and heat are supplied by the nearby cogeneration plant of 2.4 MW of power. The use of a cogeneration system in public buildings such as universities, hospitals and shopping centres guarantees a constant supply of energy even when there are grid power cuts, and a saving on the cost of this electricity.
