European Commission presents assessment for 2040 climate targets: COGEN Europe's position paper
Market and policy
In February 2024, the European Commission presented its assessment for a 2040 climate target for the EU. The Commission recommended reducing the EU's net greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2040 relative to 1990. In this regard, COGEN Europe has published a position paper that, with a holistic approach, recognises the role of energy efficiency and cogeneration as a technology in achieving zero emissions. Hans Korteweg tells us about it.
