GHG Protocol, the standard for calculating emissions, also impacts the biomethane sector

The GHG Protocol is a global standard that defines the guidelines for the calculation and management of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from public and private sector operations and their supply chains. The GHG Protocol brings together different groups that drive its development. The European Renewable Gas Registry (ERGaR), which is part of the GHG Protocol Technical Working Group on Actions and Market Instruments, explains that in the context of biomethane, the standard defines how biomethane and biomethane certificates can be used to actually calculate these emissions.
