Hungary: cogeneration between the balancing market and new investments

In Hungary over the last five years, cogeneration plants have played an important role in the natural gas balancing market, ensuring a steady supply of domestic energy. Despite the advent of the economic crisis and the increase in energy imports, the production of electricity from cogeneration plants amounted to 11% of the total. The country is now investing in the modernization and efficiency of existing plants.
