Koster’s plant inaugurated: biomethane and compost for a more sustainable future
Case history
We took part in the inauguration of Koster S.r.l.’s new biomethane plant in San Nazzaro Sesia (NO), where food and organic waste (FORSU) is processed through anaerobic digestion to produce biomethane for transport.
The plant treats around 60,000 tonnes of organic waste per year, coming from the province of Novara and nearby municipalities, generating 6.4 million Smc of biomethane and 50,000 tonnes of compost, 95% of which is used in open-field agriculture.
A dedicated refuelling station completes the facility, which also ensures reduced odour emissions, lower treatment costs, and maximum environmental efficiency.
