Moving towards 2050: the future of the energy system and the role of cogeneration

The European Union has set ambitious goals to be reached by 2050 in the fight against climate change; only through energy efficiency in buildings and industry and through renewable energy will it be possible to achieve them. The IEA advances two scenarios that might unfold in the next few years - the “2 degrees” scenario and the “beyond 2 degrees” scenario. What role will cogeneration play in these scenarios?
