Petaluma, CA: In the city, waste becomes fuel!
Applications and technologies
Petaluma is a city in California which in recent years has experienced an increase in population and the birth of new industrial enterprises. To cope with this expansion, the Ellis Creek wastewater treatment center correspondingly found it necessary to update its infrastructure to collect waste from a growing city. The various innovations adopted by the latter include the installation of a biogas plant that transforms liquid waste (waste water, oils, fats and other liquids used for food and beverage processing) into fuel to power the city’s waste collection vehicle fleet!
When we met and spoke with Jason Beatty in 2018, the plant was being upgraded.
