Skills and energy transition: the Hydrogen Skills Alliance is launched
Market and policy
The Hydrogen Skills Alliance was established in 2023 through a collaboration between Cogent Skills and the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, with the aim of addressing training gaps across the hydrogen value chain. The goal is to build a skilled workforce by tackling geographical and skills imbalances that are seen as a potential barrier to the sector’s development. The alliance brings together industry, institutions, and the education sector to define standards, anticipate future needs, and structure clear career pathways. The most in-demand skills relate to process safety and technical know-how, which are also common across other clean energy sectors such as biomethane. Learn more in this video interview.
