Spain: Castile-La Mancha Region unveils a new biomethane plan

In Spain, the Castile-La Mancha Region has approved the 2024-2030 Regional Plan to promote investments and new plants in the biomethane sector. The main goal is to process agricultural, livestock, and urban waste to reduce pollution. The plan identifies the most suitable locations for waste treatment, as well as transport, storage methods, and possible uses of digestate. Thanks to this new plan, biomethane production is expected to reach 2.8 TWh per year, equivalent to 34% of the region’s potential.
