The European Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, opened the annual COGEN Europe conference by highlighting the important role of cogeneration in saving primary energy. She then outlined three key aspects on which the Commission is working and where cogeneration can contribute: decarbonisation, energy supply and competitiveness.
