The gas produced from the nearby landfill allows Toyota Kentucky to produce clean energy and to reduce CO₂ emissions
Industry and tertiary sector
A unique project, with multiple benefits and fully managed by one of the automotive giants. Toyota, in fact, self-produces energy thanks to the waste gas from the nearby landfill, thereby reducing CO₂ emissions and the local community, in turn, also benefits as the smells produced by the landfill are cut down. Current production consists of 1 MW of electricity, but the company plans to produce 5 MW by 2025.
