The Medium Combustion Plant Directive regulates CHP plant requirements in the UK
Market and policy
The Medium Combustion Plant Directive is the recent UK directive managing permits for the installation of internal combustion plants from 1-2 thermal MW up to 50 MW. As Mr Robinson suggests, it is always good practice to be aware, at the beginning of the project, of the requirements that must be met when installing a cogeneration plant, avoiding delays when it comes to commissioning the plant. Other aspects to consider in the initial phase are noise control and air quality.
