The US Department of Energy has two initiatives to encourage the use of CHP plants

According to the US Department of Energy, gas and electric utilities are becoming increasingly involved in the CHP market and more and more commercial and government buildings are choosing efficient and resilient systems for the production of heat and electricity. The US Department of Energy has in fact organized two initiatives to encourage CHP, one focused on resiliency and municipal planning projects and the other relating to packaged CHP systems.
