Market and policy
The Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance is one of six energy efficiency organizations recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy, whose main objective is energy efficiency. In the Midwest, cogeneration can play a key role in improving the efficiency and reducing emissions from manufacturing industries, which account for 16% of the area’s GDP.
