What is biomethane/RNG?

Biomethane or Renewable Natural Gas is a renewable, clean and sustainable gas obtained by putting biogas through a purification (upgrading) process. It can be used as an alternative fuel for transport vehicles, for heating or cooking or to power cogeneration plants in order to produce high-efficiency electrical and thermal energy.
