Animal welfare and renewable energy: the virtuous example of the Società Cooperativa Agricola Pieve Ecoenergia for the second stage of CIB’s BDR DAYS
The second stage of the Italian Biogas Consortium’s BDR DAYS was held in Cingia de’ Botti, in the province of Cremona, to discover a virtuous and cutting-edge livestock farm on the animal welfare and circular economy fronts. The Società Cooperativa Agricola Pieve Ecoenergia, which to date consists of about 900 hectares, 700 dairy cows and two biogas plants that have been in operation for a number of years. The farm has recently inaugurated a new generation stable, a symbol of quality and sustainability in livestock farms and is also ready to commission its new upgrading plant for the production of 2,808,000 Sm3/year of biomethane. A great success story in the agricultural field, where it was possible to see all 10 actions of “Farming for Future”, the innovative project organised by the Italian Biogas Consortium.
