Automotive industry: 100% of electricity and steam produced by CHP system utilised at the Polycon plant (Magna Int.)
Case history
With the support of its parent company, Magna International, and the Government of Ontario's "Save on Energy Programme", the automotive plastic parts manufacturer Polycon Industries has successfully installed an 8 MW cogeneration plant. The company made this investment to remain competitive in the automotive market and to reduce its long-term manufacturing costs. In particular, 100% of the steam produced by the system is utilised in part of the manufacturing process instead of being dispersed, guaranteeing the company an excellent return on investment.
