According to a study commissioned by the Fachverband Biogas, the average price for the kilowatt hours of biogas heat in Germany is 2,6cents/KWh. In the supply of public places like schools and hospitals, operators of the biogas plant achieve a considerably higher price than in the case of home or drying systems. A quarter of the plant operators do not plan to expand the use of heat due to legal and financial motivations.
