Biogas from organic waste could replace 90% of the diesel fuel used in California

“If we used all the organic waste available, we could produce approximately 350 billion m3 of biogas per year, equivalent to 2 billion gallons of petrol and enough to replace 90% of the diesel fuel used in California.” As affirmed by Julia Levin, Executive Director of the Bioenergy Association of California, it is clear that the potential of biogas production in California is very high.
