Biogas upgrading technologies: which way is Italy heading?
Applications and technologies
The main technologies consist in washing the biogas, with water (approx. 40%) or chemical compounds, and using membranes (12%), but even more innovative technologies are being developed on the market. Italy is responding well at a technological level, with the trialling of hybrid processes; however, the situation is much more static with regards to installed plants due to the lack of incentives.
