Biohydrogen and pure carbon starting from biogas. The Horizon Europe project
Market and policy
As part of the Horizon Europe project, the European Commission has funded a new research initiative for breaking down biogas into biohydrogen and carbon. Launched in September 2022 and coordinated by the CNRS French research centre, the project will end in 2026, with the expectation to bring the technology to the market. The benefits? Zero emissions and the possibility of using carbon as a fertiliser.
