Biomethane for the Territory: the Agrométha Plant in France
Case history
We attended the inauguration of Agrométha, a biomethane plant created by ten farmers working together to transform manure and crops into energy and income. Every year, the plant processes 7,000 tonnes of livestock effluents and 10,000 tonnes of crops, along with agricultural and dairy by-products. It injects 156 Nm³/h of biomethane into the national GRDF grid, equivalent to the consumption of about 3,700 households. The digestate is used as a natural fertilizer, closing the agricultural loop. This valuable project, supported by Opale Énergies Engagées and local authorities, not only reduces emissions but also strengthens the rural economy and ensures a future for local farming.
