Biomethane for transport in Spain, potential and prospects according to Gasnam – Neutral Transport
Sustainable mobility
In Spain, the potential for biomethane in transport lies in the current consumption of fossil fuel, which could be completely replaced by biomethane. We are talking about 5.6 TW/year, of which 2.6 TW related to land transport and 2 TW to maritime transport. Spain, with its 11 biomethane plants to date, does not cover the potential. However, according to Gasnam – Neutral Transport, over the next three years about 93 projects could arrive for a total of 5 TW of biomethane produced.
