Calpech: Nanotechnology at the service of biogas
Biogas cogeneration
Calpech is a technology spin-off from the University of Alicante that produces iron nanoparticles from agro-industrial waste. Its mission is to make nanotechnology accessible for environmental solutions that cannot be achieved through traditional methods. The company develops iron nanoparticle-based additives that increase the energy efficiency of biogas and biomethane plants while reducing pollutants. These additives completely eliminate hydrogen sulphide. Moreover, they can boost methane production by up to 40% from various types of waste. An innovation that combines sustainability, efficiency, and advanced technology.
