According to the "Snapshot Survey" carried out by COGEN Europe, the cogeneration sector was essentially stable in 2017 but with growth in the commercial sector due to a favourable spark spread and increased awareness of the technology. Thanks to incentives, moreover, the share of renewables used in cogeneration has more than doubled. Looking to the future, a growth of 16% is forecast for the cogeneration sector. But how big a role will be played by European Union energy policies?
