Cogeneration and distributed generation: focus on Spain.
Market and policy
Cogeneration technology does not require transport or distribution systems since it has the advantage of being able to produce energy where it is required. This is the comment of the president of Cogen Spain who provides an overview of the situation in Spain. Even though the cogeneration market at this time is saturated in Spain, this type of technology proves to be useful and thus a renewal is essential. Biogas is instead exploited mainly in wastewater treatment plants and in landfills.
