Over the past 25 years, Italian industries have heavily invested in cogeneration, which now accounts for over half of the country’s electricity production. This technology has helped reduce energy costs and improve efficiency. According to Terna, as explained by Luca Marchisio, Head of System Strategy, the future challenge is to make cogeneration more flexible to better integrate with renewable energy sources.
