Cogeneration plants operated by utilities, the new frontier of distributed generation
Industry and tertiary sector
Increasing numbers of users are now using decentralised systems to generate energy; for this reason utilities have had to adapt by acquiring cogeneration plants and operating them autonomously. There are multiple benefits for both sides. On the one hand the utilities are assured of long-term contracts; on the other, users acquire energy without having to invest excessive sums of money.
