Cogeneration Snapshot Survey 2022: stable market and a future focused on renewables
Market and policy
Each year COGEN Europe publishes the “Snapshot Survey” that analyses the cogeneration market in European countries. In 2022, despite the energy crisis caused by the recent war and the post-pandemic repercussions, the cogeneration market remained stable and this technology was seen by companies as an efficient solution against price increases. Domestic micro-cogeneration, on the contrary, did not see a lot of growth during this period. In general, growth in the sector is expected for the next 5 years, especially in the industrial and district heating sectors and with plants powered by renewable sources such as biomass, biogas and biomethane.
