Cogeneration to meet the growing energy demand of data center: the CWC report
Associations
The data center sector is experiencing rapid growth, along with the increasing demand for electrical and thermal energy required for their operation. In the United States, for instance, approximately 2% of the current electricity generation capacity is allocated to data centers, but this figure is expected to increase up to fivefold by 2030. To address this growing demand, cogeneration emerges as an ideal solution: it not only produces electricity but also allows thermal energy to be converted into cooling, a critical element for the operation of data centers. Let’s explore the "Meeting the energy needs of data centres: what role for cogeneration?" report further with the President of the CWC – Cogen World Coalition.
