E-Methane and biogas: a possible synergy

E-methane is a type of methane produced through a process that involves the use of electricity to combine hydrogen (H2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) in a chemical reaction, using a process called methanation. The production of e-methane can occur in various ways, and the methanation process can be either biological or catalytic. Kanadevia Inova, in this interview, tells us that in Dietikon (Switzerland), a plant has been built that converts biogas into e-methane through biological methanation, while in Gabersdorf (Austria), a similar plant has been constructed using catalytic methanation.
