First biomethane/RNG powered street sweeper built by Scania
Sustainable mobility
Scania has designed the first street sweeper powered by biomethane/RNG or bio-CNG. The vehicle was designed for the S.E.S.A. SPA (Società Estense Servizi Ambientali) environmental services company, which produces biomethane from waste and from organic materials in particular. Thanks to 4 tanks with a capacity of 118 litres each, the truck is able to cut CO2 emissions by 90% when powered by biomethane and 15% when powered by natural gas.
