Flexibility pays in Germany

As Ritter reminds us, flexible plants are rewarded in Germany mainly because they supply energy to the grid when renewable energy is unavailable. Plants that operate for 30,000 hours over 10 years are paid rewards to incentivize a flexible approach in their use.
