France: a new aggregation model to make biomethane more accessible
Access to BPA and CPB tools, essential for biomethane sales, is not easy for producers. The main challenge is managing legal, economic, and production risks. Methagora, a French company, aims to solve these issues by aggregating producers and large quantities of biomethane to ensure security and supply regularity for the industry. This allows the agricultural sector (producers) to gain new development opportunities and economic stability, while the industrial counterpart (the final user of biomethane) benefits from a traceable and sustainable supply. An initial hub of five plants, producing 35 GWh per year, is already operational, and thirty more plants have joined, demonstrating that physical and contractual aggregation of production makes biomethane more accessible.
