From land to energy: the story of Agribioenergia
Case history
In 2005, a group of farmers decided to join forces to explore renewable energy, giving birth to Agribioenergia. In 2010, the first biogas plant was launched and, thanks to surplus thermal energy, inspired a new initiative: the cultivation and drying of medicinal plants, now distributed worldwide. Today, Agribioenergia is ready for a new challenge: producing biomethane for injection into the gas grid. With 30 members and around 3,000 hectares under cultivation, the cooperative proves that agricultural innovation and the circular economy can go hand in hand, turning the land into a driver of sustainable and energy development.
