How could biomass contribute to the energy transition?

“Biomass for the moment is already representing 7-8% of the total energy system and 3/4 of that is heat.
So it means that we have something like 6% of the total energy consumption in Europe in the form of
biomass for heat, which is already significant.” Said Henrik Lund in this interview about contribution of the heat production fueled by biomass in the EU energy transition process.
