In Spain, a roadmap to allow industries to become more competitive with cogeneration

In Spain, cogeneration helps save 14 million barrels of oil and 8 million tons of CO2. Moreover, 12% of the country’s electricity mix is produced by cogeneration, using nearly 25% of the natural gas demand. The two main associations in this domain, ACOGEN and COGEN Spain, have defined a roadmap to consolidate the role of cogeneration in the coming years. The General Manager of ACOGEN explains what the key points of this roadmap are.
