Initiatives of the members of the American Public Power Association to reduce emissions in public electricity distribution services
Associations
The American Public Power Association (APPA) is an organization in the United States that brings together public electricity distribution services. Paul Zummo, Director of Research and Development at APPA, talked to us about the actions that public services are taking to adopt more sustainable technologies in order to reduce emissions, working with partners to develop clean energy resources such as wind and solar. Examples include an APPA member in Muscatine, Iowa, which is developing a CHP plant with an approximately 50 MW capacity forecasted to be commissioned by 2028.
