Italy: we take stock of the requirements, tariffs and timelines for the production of biomethane/RNG with CIB Service
Market and policy
The application rules of the so-called TER Biomethane Decree have been issued and have been in force since January 2023. The new Decree not only introduces new intended uses for biomethane/RNG produced (not only transport but also other self-consumption uses) but also offers the possibility of taking advantage of two incentives, one with regard to the feed-in tariffs and one with the capital account. The rates differ based on the net production of biomethane/RNG, of course taking into consideration the last date of plant start-up set as 30 June 2026. In this interview with Elisa Codazzi from CIB Service we take stock of the requirements, tariffs and timeframes.
