Mount Royal University: an 850 kW system for the Canadian campus
Case history
MRU, a university of Calgary, Canada, chose cogeneration to improve its heat and power performance, as the old boiler was no longer able to meet the campus' annual energy needs. In 2016, the university decided to install an 850 kW plant, also with the financial support of the Energy Efficiency Alberta program. The plant allows the university to reduce CO2 emissions by 2,000 tons per year and reduce operating costs by $400,000.
