Power to gas, an opportunity for biogas plants
Biogas cogeneration
Power-to-gas is a process of converting electrical energy into chemical gases. This process is used to store electricity produced from renewable sources, such as wind or sun, as a gas, which can be more easily stored and transported than electricity. Power-to-gas is a significant opportunity for biogas power plants, as it allows excess electricity to be used to produce hydrogen, which can subsequently be converted to biomethane and fed into the grid or stored. This process not only contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, but also offers a solution for the storage of electricity, increasing the flexibility and efficiency of the energy system.
