Social acceptance of biogas starts with social media: The Malgherosse experience
Agriculture and breeding
Today, the issue of social acceptance of biogas and biomethane plants is more relevant than ever. We discussed it with Valeria Ruggeri from Malgherosse, a farm in Brescia with over 2,500 cattle and a biogas plant operating since 2007. According to Valeria, the key to improving public perception is simple: information. Sharing knowledge and clearly explaining what happens on farms can break down prejudice and resistance. In this context, social media is a powerful tool. It’s precisely on these platforms that Malgherosse tells its daily story in a clear and relatable way, helping to debunk myths and bring the public closer to the world of animal farming and agriculture.
