Stratford Hospital: lower electricity consumption by 8,000 MWh a year thanks to cogeneration
Case history
Located in Ontario, the Stratford General Hospital has chosen cogeneration to reduce its energy costs. Thanks to funding granted by the IESO, a 1 MW plant was installed in 2017 that will enable the hospital to produce its own energy and, by also using one of the 4 boilers already on-site (3 were deactivated when the plant entered operations), to optimize its use of the thermal energy produced to heat the building internally.
